A Formal Mathematical Model of Cognitive Radio
نویسندگان
چکیده
Cognitive Radio (CR) has caught a lot of attention lately due to its unprecedented capabilities, and its potential to enhance the user's radio experience. CR, as introduced by Mitola, adds a new dimension in the radio domain; that’s the incorporation of the capabilities of knowledge representation and processing. Combined with reasoning functionalities the radio is capable of providing a vast range of applications and services; like efficient radio resource management and enhanced environment-aware services. However, in order to characterize the internal functions of a CR and the ultimate possibilities of its applications and services; a formalization of the cognition concept is needed. This formalization enables scientists to carry out rigorous scientific analysis for various CR-related problems. Inspired from cognitive sciences, cognitive neurosciences, and artificial intelligence realms, this paper aims at developing a formal model for CR. For the first time, to our knowledge, formalization for CR has been proposed, thus laying down a preliminary effort towards developing a formal rigorous treatment for all future CR aspects. The resulting formal model is shown to accommodate the CR definitions and concepts developed by the pioneers in this field. متن کاملThe Optimal MMSE Transceiver Design for IoT-oriented Cognitive Radio Systems
This paper studies interference alignment scheme and minimum mean square error (MMSE) improvement in Internet of Things (IoT)-oriented cognitive systems, where IoT devices share the licensed spectrum by cognitive radio in spectrum underlay. Target to manage the inter-tier interference caused by cognitive spectrum sharing as well as ensure an MMSE at receivers, the interference alignment algorit...
متن کاملA short introduction to two approaches in formal verification of security protocols: model checking and theorem proving
In this paper, we shortly review two formal approaches in verification of security protocols; model checking and theorem proving. Model checking is based on studying the behavior of protocols via generating all different behaviors of a protocol and checking whether the desired goals are satisfied in all instances or not. We investigate Scyther operational semantics as n example of this...
متن کاملCognitive Radio for Flexible Mobile Multimedia Communications
Wireless multimedia applications require significant bandwidth, some of which will be provided by third-generation (3G) services. Even with substantial investment in 3G infrastructure, the radio spectrum allocated to 3G will be limited. Cognitive radio offers a mechanism for the flexible pooling of radio spectrum using a new class of protocols called formal radio etiquettes. This approach could...
متن کاملHammerstein-Wiener Model: A New Approach to the Estimation of Formal Neural Information
A new approach is introduced to estimate the formal information of neurons. Formal Information, mainly discusses about the aspects of the response that is related to the stimulus. Estimation is based on introducing a mathematical nonlinear model with Hammerstein-Wiener system estimator. This method of system identification consists of three blocks to completely describe the nonlinearity of inp...
